So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. It is so hard to not get focused and pre-occupied on the things going on around me. After all, I have to live in this world and deal with all the stuff it throws at me. Sometimes I let those things overwhelm me. I don’t think I can completely ignore them but I have to shift my focus on Jesus. How do I consistently set my mind on things above? Jesus said to seek the kingdom of God above all else. For me, it comes down to prayer and reading the Bible. I waste so much time with other things. I wonder how much different life would be if I truly sought the things above?
Lord, help me to realign my priorities. Help me to focus on You even when the world around me rages. Help me to live out Your kingdom here in this world.
