This will be the most difficult topic to deal with because I honestly don’t watch much these days. At night I might put on Forensic Files or Mayday-Air Disasters and watch until I fall asleep. I have seen every episode of Forensic Files at least twice. I also like to watch Dry Bar Comedy episodes on either Tubi or YouTube. There are a bunch of oddball documentaries on Tubi and I frequently watch those. I believe I have seen every JFK assassination documentary up there but it also seems like a new one pops up every other day.
What else? It may seem odd but I enjoy watching The TRY Channel on YouTube. It is filmed in Ireland and every episode features six people trying various things. I have seen it enough that I have favorites. Dermot, Paddy, Callyann, and Nicole are currently at the top of the list but the majority of the folks that appear are entertaining. HERE is a sample episode to get the gist of what they do. There is a bit of language in these so they are most likely NSFW.
The last movie I watched all the way through was Tremors. It’s a fun comedy-horror flick with a great ensemble cast (Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Michael Gross, Reba McEntire) that feels like one of those B-movies from the 1950s. It’s thirty-five years old and has spawned six sequels and a short-lived TV show. A pilot for a second series (with Kevin Bacon) was supposedly done in 2017 but I have never seen it. I don’t believe it actually aired but there were some stills from it. There is currently a rumor of a new sequel (or possible re-boot) with Kevin Bacon returning.
I did start watching The 6th Day last night. I love a mindless Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick. This one immediately got my attention due to the subject matter. If you’ve never seen it the plot revolves around the illegal cloning of human beings. The movie came out twenty-five years ago and is set sometime after 2015 when it claims human cloning became possible. I know we’re ten years beyond that and human clones aren’t possible (are they?) but the story is still entertaing.
Somehow, I had never seen this movie. It was a box office bomb and received several Razzie nominations. I don’t mind saying that I enjoyed what I saw. It is in the same vein as Schwarzenegger’s Total Recall, which I love. It also reminds me a bit of Demolition Man (Stallone), which is also a favorite. However, I fell asleep about two-thirds of the way in because I had taken some Benadryl. My plan is to finish it up this afternoon. This morning I remembered that I actually own it on VHS. I may have to throw that in sometime.
There we go. That’s what I’ve been watching lately. Perhaps I will get more adventurous in the future.
Grace and peace.
