When I deliberately focus on and pursue the things of this world, I can’t truly follow Jesus. Whether it’s my own sinful urges or the treasures of earth; I have taken Jesus off the throne of my heart. No matter how much I try to justify or water it down; that is idolatry. Sometimes it is subtle and creeps up on me but too many times I simply bow down willingly.

Lord, reveal the areas in my life where I need to totally surrender. Give me the strength through Your Spirit to cast down my idols
