I’m just going to take a moment to bring everything up to speed. I began this blog a little over five years ago as I was making the transition from Pennsylvania back to North Carolina. That move took place in June 2020. I was hoping that a change of scenery would inspire more writing. That obviously didn’t happen but I do believe I wrote some interesting things when I did bother to show up.
I had just stared ranking all of the albums Petra released when I quit. I may finish that up at some point but I want to get back into the habit of writing every day before jumping back into that. I also did a three part series discussing the history of the Newsboys. That was in August of 2019 while they were doing the Newsboys United thing. Quite a bit has happened in that band so I forsee a part four at some point. I once mentioned doing a similar post about Skillet but I’m not sure if I will or not.
There was a series of posts I was writing about “decluttering” faith. I completed three of them before getting distracted and abandoning it. I plan to go back and read them and see where I may have changed. It’s been almost four years since I wrote those so I’m sure my thoughts have continued to evolve during that time. That series (if I choose to pick it back up) will have to wait.
As far as my personal life goes, there have been a few changes. I will turn 55 a month from today. I have had a few minor health concerns but am working on staying as healthy as possible. I am still married to my beautiful wife. June 29 will make 34 years and I feel like we’re just getting started. We no longer have children at home. That has been an interesting transition. We have been parents since 1996 so the concept of it being “just us” has been new and exciting. My father has moved in with us (long story) so it’s not 100% “just us” but you get the picture.
I am still at the same church and things there are going well. It’s a small, old, rural church so it has all the baggage that comes along with that. However, it also includes all the benefits (there are many) as well. I am still a member of the volunteer fire department. I’m the Vice President of the board and I was promoted to Safety Officer. I am still one of the chaplains and I still love being involved in the community.
That’s probably enough. I have a special post planned for tomorrow so come back and see what it is.
Grace and peace.

One more significant difference from last time . . . you’re now much more aware of the unseen realm.
